## Transcript

What if I told you there's a Pokémon that was made out of the things people threw away, and people have been trying to throw it away ever since?

This is Trubbish. 

It didn't come into the world the way most Pokémon did. 

A bag stuffed with trash got mixed up with industrial waste, something inside it reacted, and it woke up. The very first thing Trubbish ever was, was something nobody wanted anymore.

So it went looking for the only kind of home it understood. 

It follows people who litter, because they're the ones who leave something behind for it. It settles into garbage dumps. 

Leave enough trash lying around your room and you might find one living in there with you!

Everywhere it goes, it gets run off. The gas it burps out can put a person to sleep for a week. In one region, other Pokémon hunt it for food.

Fans have spent more than fifteen years calling it the ugliest, laziest design in the whole series. A trash bag with eyes.

And in the anime there's a story about one Trubbish that wandered into a kindergarten. The kids fell in love with it right away. Their teacher wanted it gone, because she was sure it would stink up the whole school. Then the day came when those kids were in real danger, and the one that saved them was Trubbish. After that, it got to stay.

And once it had people of its own, the smell stopped. A Trubbish that finally has someone doesn't give off that stench anymore.

The smell everyone ran from only ever lasted until somebody decided to keep it.
