Meet Pidove

It's a little gray pigeon that lives in parks and plazas, right in the middle of the city, and it's used to being around people. It tries so hard. Pidove follows its trainer's orders as best it can, but once the instructions get complicated, it just can't keep up.

And sometimes it forgets completely. It'll wait for a new order from its trainer even when it already has one, so it stands there looking up at you, waiting to be told again... and again.... AND AGAIN

The Pokédex doesn't pretend it's a genius. It says Pidove is forgetful and not very bright... and then it says that many trainers love it anyway, for its friendliness and its sincerity.

They love it for the way it keeps showing up and trying, every single time.

Some people spend their whole lives thinking they have to be the sharpest one in the room to be worth keeping around. They lose the thread halfway through a sentence and ask the same question twice, and the people who love them were never keeping score.
