## Transcript

So what if I told you there's a Legendary Pokémon that gets introduced with an apology?

This is Kubfu. 

When the old master who raised it introduces it to someone new, one of the first things he says is, "I know, I know. It's tiny." He believes in it, he really does. He says it has amazing potential. Problem is, it's a bit shy. It just doesn't seem to have much confidence in itself.

If you were the quiet kid, you know that speech. 

You stood right there while a grown-up you loved told somebody, "Sorry, my kid's just shy," like you were something that needed an excuse. And the person apologizing for Kubfu is the same one it ran and hid behind every time it got scared.

Then comes the tower. 

Five floors, and Kubfu has to go in as the only Pokémon on the team, so there's nobody in there to hide behind.

When it needs its nerve, it pulls the long white hair on its head and power wells up from the depths of its belly. Everybody has a version of that, like sitting in the parking lot before an interview going okay, okay, you got this, and not believing a word of it.

On the fifth floor, the final opponent is the old man. 

The same one it used to hide behind.

Kubfu wins. It evolves right there, and he just laughs. 

"You've certainly grown, haven't you? And to think, not long ago you would've run and hid behind me the moment you got scared."

So to every kid who stood there while somebody said "Sorry, my kid's just shy," a Legendary got that same introduction and still climbed the whole tower on its own two feet. 

And the people who made excuses for you are probably standing at the top of yours, prouder than they know how to say.
