## Transcript

So what if I told you there's a Pokémon so powerful it moved to the bottom of the ocean so it couldn't hurt anybody.

This is Lugia.

The old legend in Johto says it used to perch up high, on top of a tower in Ecruteak City. Then lightning struck that tower, and it burned.

When it was over, Lugia flew out to the sea and went down deep, where nobody could see it.

Its Pokédex tells you why it stays down there. Lugia's wings are so strong that a light flutter can blow apart a house. While a real flap of those wings is said to cause a storm that lasts forty days. So it picked the one place in the world where there's nothing to break.

But it never really left.

It's called the guardian of the seas, and it has an incredible gift for calming storms, so whenever one starts, it comes up.

If you were a kid in 2000, you watched it happen.

In the movie, the world's weather starts breaking apart, and Lugia rises out of the ocean into the middle of it. It takes hit after hit from three legendary birds while it tries to calm them down. Then it falls out of the sky and sinks back into the sea. What wakes it back up is a song played on a flute, which, if you grew up with that movie, you can probably already hear.

When it's over, it gives a kid one last flight through the sky. Then it goes back down to the bottom of the ocean, where it can't hurt anybody.

## Pokédex entry

It is said that it quietly spends its time deep at the bottom of the sea because its powers are too strong.
