## Transcript

Palkia got chained up and forced to break the world, and the only one it trusted to stop it was a kid.

This is Palkia. Its Pokédex says the world used to have walls, and the day Palkia was born, they disappeared. That's why the sky goes on forever. It's the reason any of us have room to breathe.

So of course somebody wanted to own that.

Pearl kids, you know exactly where this is going. In Pokémon Pearl, a man named Cyrus climbs to the ruins at the top of the biggest mountain in Sinnoh. He's carrying a red chain made to control a god. He wants to erase this world and build a brand new one, his way.

And it works. Palkia gets dragged out of its own world, chained, and forced to use its power for somebody else's plan. It starts losing control.

Everybody on that mountain is terrified of it. And then the professor says the one thing nobody else does. He says it's impossible to tell if it's angry or sad. He tells you to listen to its heart. Then he says it seems to be trusting you to stop it.

The one that gave the whole world room had no room left to say no. And out of everyone on that mountain, it put its trust in a kid with a backpack.

So you step up and face the god of space until it finally goes still.

Maybe you've been the one who makes room for everybody, and the only time anyone notices is when you finally break. Maybe all you needed was one person who looked closer instead of backing away.

It gave the whole world room to breathe, and when it was the one in chains, all it needed was somebody who'd listen.

So be honest. Diamond or Pearl, which god did you pick as a kid? Drop your pick in the comments.
