## Transcript

What if we told you there’s a Pokémon that lets the whole forest eat the top of its head, and by morning it grows right back.

This is Morelull, a glowing mushroom about eight inches tall.

It sleeps the whole day away, and when the sun goes down, it wakes up and gets to work.

At night, the caps on its head fill with glowing spores, and anyone who looks at that flickering light falls into a deep sleep. So when the whole forest goes quiet, Morelull is the little light that's still on.

And the forest leans on it.

Its Pokédex says the Pokémon living there eat the caps right off Morelull's head, because they're delicious. Which is a lot to ask of somebody eight inches tall. By the next morning, the caps have grown back.

It has to eat too, so it drinks a little from the roots of a tree.

But every night it moves on to a new one, so no single tree ever has to give too much.

So all night long, it's the light that helps everybody else sleep. It lets the forest take pieces of it, and it barely takes anything back. Then the sun comes up, it's whole again, and it goes to sleep while everybody else starts their day.

Maybe you grew up with somebody who worked nights, and most of the time you only saw them asleep in the middle of the day.

Maybe it took you years to realize they were the reason everyone else got to sleep.

It gives the forest a piece of itself every night, and nobody's awake to see it grow back.

Whoever worked nights in your house, make sure they see this one.
