0:00What if I told you the prettiest Pokémon there is spends its whole life feeling everyone else's emotions so nobody around it ever gets hurt?
0:03This is Sylveon.
0:05Everyone knows it for the ribbons.
0:08The soft pink feelers, the way it wraps them around its trainer's arm when they walk together.
0:11It looks like the sweetest, most affectionate thing in the world.
0:13But the Pokédex tells you why it really does that.
0:16Sylveon wraps those feelers around your arm so it can read your feelings.
0:19The touch isn't just love.
0:21It's listening.
0:24It's holding onto you to feel what you're feeling, all the time, so it always knows what you need before you say a word.
0:26And it doesn't stop there.
0:29When a fight breaks out anywhere near it, Sylveon sends out a soothing aura from those same feelers.
0:32It erases the hostility in the room.
0:34It calms everyone down.
0:37It steps into the middle of conflict it didn't start and it makes the bad feeling go away, because it cannot stand to watch the people around it stay angry or scared.
0:40Sylveon is the peacemaker.
0:42The one who feels the whole room.
0:45The one holding your arm, quietly tracking your mood, smoothing everything over before anyone even knows there was something to smooth.
0:48Some of you have been Sylveon your entire life.
0:50You learned to read people early...
0:53Maybe too early.
0:56You can feel the temperature of a room the second you walk in.
0:58You know when someone's about to break before they do.
1:01You spend so much energy managing everyone else's emotions, keeping everyone calm, holding everyone's arm, that you've gotten incredible at sensing exactly what other people feel.
1:04Everyone leans on your feelers.
1:06Everyone gets to be read by you, soothed by you, calmed by you.
1:09But nobody ever wraps their ribbons around your arm.
1:11Nobody checks what you're feeling.
1:14You became the one who senses everything, and somewhere along the way you stopped getting to be the one who's sensed.
1:17You're not too much, and you're not just sweet.
1:19You're the one who kept the peace.
1:22You're allowed to find the person who wants to read you too.
1:25Have you ever been the one who feels everyone else, while nobody stops to feel you?
1:27Let's talk about it in the comments!
