Pokémon Bank closes on February 25, 2027.

What stops working

• Moving Pokémon from Bank to HOME. Anything still in Bank on February 25, 2027 can no longer be moved to HOME.
• Putting Pokémon into Bank or taking them out. That includes carrying Pokémon from X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire into Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon through Bank.
• Poké Transporter. It only sends Pokémon into Bank, so once Bank closes it has nowhere to send them.

It is one way. Pokémon moved from Bank to HOME can never go back to Bank or into a 3DS game, and Bank never sends Pokémon back to Black, White or the Virtual Console games.

What can only reach HOME through Bank

X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon

Deposit them in Bank on the 3DS, then move Bank to HOME.

Black, White, Black 2, White 2

Poké Transporter sends them to Bank, then Bank moves them to HOME.

Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal on the 3DS Virtual Console

Poké Transporter sends them to Bank. Install the game on the same 3DS as Bank. From Bank they can go to Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon or HOME, but not to X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.

Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver

Move them into Black 2 or White 2 first at the Poké Transfer Lab on Route 15. It opens after the main story, needs two DS systems, takes off held items and refuses Pokémon that know a hidden move such as Surf or Fly. Then use Poké Transporter.

Already gone

• March 27, 2023. The 3DS eShop stopped selling games, Bank's paid passes ended and Bank became free, and Bank and Poké Transporter could no longer be downloaded. Games you already own can still be downloaded again.
• April 8, 2024. Online play ended for most 3DS games. Bank and Poké Transporter were kept online.

There is no separate deadline for new subscriptions: Bank costs nothing, and nothing new can be bought or downloaded for it.

Checklist, in order

1. Make sure Bank still opens, and update it Turn on the 3DS that has Pokémon Bank and open it. Accept the update if it offers one: the option that sends Pokémon to HOME only appears in version 1.5 or later. Do not delete Bank or Poké Transporter, because neither can be downloaded again.
2. Get Pokémon HOME with a Premium Plan Moving Pokémon out of Bank needs the paid Premium Plan in Pokémon HOME, on Nintendo Switch or on a phone. Bank itself is free. The shortest Premium Plan lasts one month.
3. Pull in Pokémon from the older games Use Poké Transporter on the same 3DS to send Pokémon from Black, White, Black 2, White 2 and the 3DS Virtual Console Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal into Bank. Pokémon in Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver go into Black 2 or White 2 first, through the Poké Transfer Lab on Route 15.
4. Deposit what is still in your 3DS games Open Bank and put in the Pokémon you want from X, Y, Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
5. Move everything from Bank to HOME In HOME, choose Move, then Begin Move, and show the Moving Key. On the 3DS, open Bank, pick Move Pokémon to Pokémon HOME, select the Boxes to send and enter the key within three minutes. Repeat until Bank is empty.
6. Check they arrived, and decide where they live Open your HOME Boxes and look for your Pokémon. If your Premium Plan later ends, only the 30 most recent Pokémon stay in your Basic Box and the rest are locked, and kept only for a limited time. Keep the plan, or move favorites into a Switch game they appear in.

No 3DS any more? Link the Nintendo Network ID you used with Bank to the Nintendo Account you use with HOME, then choose No Nintendo 3DS in HOME's Move menu. Everything in Bank moves in one go. Pokémon still inside your DS or 3DS games are not in Bank, so they stay behind.
