0:00What if I told you the cheerful little bell Pokémon everyone loves the sound of has been crying the whole time, at a pitch no one around it can hear?
0:03This is Chingling, a tiny bell with an orb inside it.
0:05When it hops, the orb bounces around and makes a bright, pretty ringing sound, and people adore it for that.
0:08The happy little jingle, the cheerful chime.
0:10THAT is the Chingling everyone knows!
0:13But that ringing isn't the only sound it makes.
0:15Chingling also cries out at a frequency so high that the human ear physically cannot pick it up.
0:18And the Pokédex is specific about this.
0:20It can cry like that for an awfully long time.
0:23Not a quick sound, but, a long one.
0:25It is crying, loudly, continuously, right in front of people, and they hear nothing.
0:28To them it's still just the happy little bell that jingles when it hops.
0:30There's an old researcher's note about a Chingling that cried out and seemingly made no sound at all.
0:33The researcher didn't hear a thing.
0:35What they got instead was a sudden, excruciating headache.
0:38Something was wrong.
0:40They could feel that something was wrong....
0:43They just couldn't hear what it was!
0:45Some of you have been crying at that frequency for years.
0:48You make the sound people want from you.
0:50The cheerful one.
0:53The fine one.
0:55The bright little jingle when you walk into the room.
0:57And underneath it, at a pitch the people around you were never tuned to, you have been crying out for help for a long, long time.
1:00Not quietly.
1:03Not subtly.
1:05You've been loud about it in your own way.
1:08It just came out in a frequency they couldn't receive, so they kept enjoying the jingle and never heard the cry.
1:10And maybe someone close to you sensed it.
1:13Got a strange ache they couldn't explain around you, knew something was off, and still couldn't quite hear it.
1:15Your pain was never silent.
1:18You were never not asking.
1:20It just landed in a register the people near you couldn't pick up, and that was never your failure to be heard.
1:23You DESERVE someone tuned to your actual frequency, not just the part of you that sounds like a pretty bell.
1:25Have you ever been crying out in a way no one around you could hear?
