0:00What if I told you the word for seahorse, in Japanese, literally translates to the dragon's illegitimate child.
0:03And Kingdra spent its whole existence proving that name wrong.
0:06This is Kingdra, the final form of a little seahorse.
0:09And that name is NOT an accident.
0:12For centuries, people looked at seahorses and saw something shaped like a dragon.
0:15It had the horns.
0:18It had the fins.
0:21It had the whole look of one.
0:24But it was not one.
0:27It was small, and it was weak, and it got written off as a cheap little copy of the real thing.
0:30Dragon-shaped, and never a dragon.
0:33A knock-off.
0:36The reject.
0:39There is even an old myth attached to it.
0:42That if a seahorse somehow survives long enough, if it lasts a full hundred years, it finally stops being the imitation and turns into an actual dragon.
0:45And that is exactly what Kingdra is.
0:48It's the seahorse that made it.
0:51It grew up, it grew strong, and it became a genuine, real, Water and Dragon type dragon.
0:54The exact thing everyone spent centuries saying it was only pretending to be.
0:57It took the insult built into its own name, the dragon's reject, the fake, and it turned that into the truth.
1:00It did not become something else.
1:03It became the thing they all swore it never actually was.
1:06Some of you have been called that too.
1:09The knock-off.
1:12The lesser version of where you came from.
1:15The one who was never going to be the real thing.
1:18So be honest.
1:21Who called you the knock-off, the lesser version of where you came from?
1:24Name them in the comments.
1:27Kingdra proved every one of them wrong, and some of you still will.
Mixed attacker. 95 Attack and 95 Sp. Attack means no resist is safe.
