0:00What if I told you that in the emptiest place in the entire Pokémon world, there's something drifting around looking for the hurt ones.
0:04On purpose.
0:07That's its whole life.
0:11This is Alomomola.
0:14And to understand it, you have to picture where it works.
0:18The open ocean, no routes, no items, no Pokémon Centers, just endless water in every direction.
0:22Getting hurt out there should be the end of the story.
0:25Except this world built a nurse for it.
0:29Here's what the Pokédex says it does, and every line of it is real.
0:32When Alomomola finds an injured or weakened Pokémon out in that water, it gently gathers them up and holds them in its fins.
0:36The membrane covering its body is a healing membrane, so just being held by this creature closes you up and brings your strength back.
0:40And when the one it's holding can finally swim again, Alomomola doesn't keep them, and it doesn't follow them home.
0:43It carries them the whole way back to shore, sets them down in the shallows, and turns around, back out into all that empty blue, to go find the next one.
0:47It doesn't know these Pokémon, they're total strangers.
0:50There's no reward out there, no thanks, half of them probably never even know what held them.
0:54The games gave this Pokémon one job, caring for whoever's hurt, and then shaped it like a heart, and it earns that shape every single day of its life.
0:58Even the competitive players know it, because in tournaments, its entire job is keeping its teammates standing.
1:01And some of you were held together like that once.
1:05By a nurse working a floor of strangers.
1:08Or by a paramedic whose name you never got.
1:12And maybe even by a friend who found you in open water, at your worst, and stayed until you could float, and then let you swim on without making it about them.
1:16So today the finders get found.
