Snubbull.
Its frightening face scares away smaller Pokémon, though it dislikes making them afraid. Beneath its intimidating appearance, it is affectionate and surprisingly sensitive.

0:00What if I told you there's a Pokémon whose scary face works every single time, and its Pokédex says it gets a little sad every single time it works.
0:03This is Snubbull, and everything about its life is a case of mistaken identity.
0:07Look at that face, the underbite, the fangs, the permanent scowl.
0:10Maybe to you, it reads as a bruiser.
0:14I mean according to Pokémon it was drawn to read as a bruiser.
0:17And when it bares those fangs and puts on the full scary face, the entries say smaller Pokémon scatter in terror, immediately, every time.
0:21Fight over before it even starts.
0:24One would say its undefeated, on a technicality.
0:28And then the Pokédex adds the sentence that changes the whole Pokémon.
0:31It seems a little sad at making its foes flee.
0:35Because here's who's actually behind the face.
0:38The entries say Snubbull is kind and affectionate.
0:42More than that, it's timid.
0:45And even MORE than that, and this is the detail that gets people, it's described as a cowardly Pokémon that growls eagerly to hide its fear.
0:48Now lets run the whole thing back.
0:52The growling isn't aggression, it's a scared Pokémon doing an impression of a tough one, hoping nobody checks.
0:55The scary face was never meant to be a weapon; it's a mask it can't take off.
0:59It walks up wanting to play, the face arrives first, everyone runs, and the little bulldog stands there alone in the space it just cleared, sad that it worked again.
1:02It has never lost a fight, and it has never wanted one.
1:06Some of you have lived this Pokémon's entire life.
1:09The people who get told you looked so intimidating before I knew you.
1:13The ones whose resting face clears rooms they wanted to be invited into.
1:16The ones wrapped in an unapproachable face, growling a little at the world because it feels safer than being seen.
1:20So this one's for the misjudged.
1:23Tell the story in the comments, the time somebody admitted they had you completely wrong, what they assumed, and what they found.
1:27Name the scariest-looking softest person in your life, they've earned the shoutout.
