0:00What if I told you the most heartbreaking characters in the whole anime are three little foxes from a single episode.
0:03They got their best friend a better life.
0:06It cost them the only bright thing they had, and the show never went back for them.
0:09This is Nickit.
0:12In the games it's easy to miss, a small fox in the tall grass with a thief's reputation.
0:16But its Pokédex tells you who it really is.
0:19It moves on soft pads so it's never heard.
0:22It takes food, and nothing else.
0:25And as it slips away, it wipes its own tracks off the ground with its tail.
0:28It learned how to survive in a city that was never going to feed it, and how to disappear so completely that nobody would ever have to think about it at all.
0:31In Wyndon, the biggest city in Galar, three of them lived that life together in the back alleys.
0:34And somewhere along the way, they took in a stray, a little Scorbunny with nowhere else to go.
0:37It wasn't a fox, and it didn't matter.
0:40It rolled itself in dirt until its fur was dark like theirs, and they made room, and the alley became a home, the way places do when the right ones are in them.
0:43Then a young trainer came through the city, and he saw what the foxes had always seen in their friend, something bright, something meant for more than alleys.
0:47He was leaving on the train.
0:50And the Scorbunny froze on the platform, because the only family it had was standing behind it.
0:53So the Nickit chose for it.
0:56They picked their best friend up, carried it down the platform, and threw it aboard the moving train themselves.
0:59And then they waved.
1:02They stood there acting like it was nothing, like they'd be just fine, because if they'd let it look like it hurt, their friend would have jumped back off.
1:05The train pulled away and the group of Nickit just simply walked home to the alley.
1:08The show followed the train, and Scorbunny’s life got big and bright, exactly like they hoped it would.
1:11And for a long time, that was the last we saw of the three Nickit.
1:14Until the anime did something I genuinely didn’t expect...
1:18They went BACK.
1:21More than a hundred episodes later, Cinderace found them again.
1:24They were still all together and looking after Wyndon.
1:27And this time, they got their moment too.
Special bulk leads the way at 52.
Nickit's base stat total is 245. The shape of a stat spread tells you everything about a Pokémon's role. Tanks lean defense, sweepers lean speed and attack.
