Lechonk.
It searches for food all day. It possesses a keen sense of smell but doesn’t use it for anything other than foraging.

0:00What if I told you that while the internet was busy laughing at this Pokémon, somewhere out there a seven year old threw the first Poké Ball of their entire life at it, and it clicked.
0:04You know how the world met Lechonk.
0:07The reveal hit in 2022, a pig with a worried face and chonk built into the name, and the jokes wrote themselves for weeks.
0:11Fine.
0:14Some of them were funny.
0:18But while all that was happening, the games came out, and Lechonk is one of the very first wild Pokémon you can meet in Paldea.
0:22It's standing right there in the opening fields, nose down in the grass, the first thing a brand new player sees.
0:25Which means Lechonk has a job, and it's the most important job in the entire franchise.
0:29It's the FIRST catch.
0:32Not the starter the professor hands you, the first one YOU chose.
0:36Somewhere today, an actual kid crept up on this pig with one ball and no badges and a heart going a hundred miles an hour, threw it, watched it shake once, twice, three times, and click.
0:40And that kid ran to show somebody.
0:43That kid probably named it something ridiculous, because let's be honest...
0:47A LOT of us did.
0:50But that kid probably didn't even know Lechonk is a meme, because to that kid, it's the first wild thing in any world that ever agreed to stay.
0:54And you had one of these yourself.
0:58Go back.
1:01Before the badges, before you knew what a stat was, there was a first ball that worked, and whatever was inside it, a Pidgey, a Zubat, a Wurmple you swore was special, your whole chest lit up like a slot machine paying out.
1:05Every worn-out route Pokémon that adults roll their eyes at was that exact miracle for somebody, once.
1:08Lechonk is just the newest name on the oldest list.
1:12Every generation's punchline is some kid's first friend.
1:16So the comment section has just one single rule today for our question of the day.
1:19The rule is nobody laughs at anybody's answer.
1:23The question is, what was your first catch ever in a Pokémon game?
1:26Not your starter, but, the first ball you threw that worked.
An absolute unit of HP at 54.
Lechonk's base stat total is 254. The shape of a stat spread tells you everything about a Pokémon's role. Tanks lean defense, sweepers lean speed and attack.
