Lugia.
It retreats to the ocean depths to spare the surface its immense power. Even a gentle beat of its wings can send houses flying apart.

0:00So what if I told you there's a Pokémon so powerful it moved to the bottom of the ocean so it couldn't hurt anybody.
0:05This is Lugia.
0:10The old legend in Johto says it used to perch up high, on top of a tower in Ecruteak City.
0:15Then lightning struck that tower, and it burned.
0:20When it was over, Lugia flew out to the sea and went down deep, where nobody could see it.
0:25Its Pokédex tells you why it stays down there.
0:30Lugia's wings are so strong that a light flutter can blow apart a house.
0:35While a real flap of those wings is said to cause a storm that lasts forty days.
0:40So it picked the one place in the world where there's nothing to break.
0:45But it never really left.
0:50It's called the guardian of the seas, and it has an incredible gift for calming storms, so whenever one starts, it comes up.
0:55If you were a kid in 2000, you watched it happen.
1:00In the movie, the world's weather starts breaking apart, and Lugia rises out of the ocean into the middle of it.
1:05It takes hit after hit from three legendary birds while it tries to calm them down.
1:10Then it falls out of the sky and sinks back into the sea.
1:15What wakes it back up is a song played on a flute, which, if you grew up with that movie, you can probably already hear.
1:20When it's over, it gives a kid one last flight through the sky.
1:25Then it goes back down to the bottom of the ocean, where it can't hurt anybody.
Sp. Defense 154, Sp. Attack 90. Pick your poison.
Lugia's base stat total is 680. The shape of a stat spread tells you everything about a Pokémon's role. Tanks lean defense, sweepers lean speed and attack.
