Rotom.
Its body is made of plasma, allowing it to slip inside electrical devices and control them from within. Mischievous and endlessly curious, it loves surprising people by making their household appliances behave as though they have minds of their own.

0:00Rotom is a ghost that moved into your phone, and that might be why your old phone is so hard to throw away.
0:04This is Rotom, a little ghost made of electricity.
0:09Its Pokédex says it can move into all sorts of machines, and it loves to surprise people.
0:13For years, that meant haunting ovens and washing machines.
0:17Then in 2016, in Pokémon Sun and Moon, you open your Pokédex and find a Rotom asleep inside it.
0:21Once it wakes up, it talks to you for the whole adventure and calls you partner.
0:26In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it even makes a sad face every ten minutes until you tap it.
0:30That might be the most phone thing ever.
0:34It could climb out of that Pokédex anytime it wanted, and it told you it would rather stay.
0:39So when the games moved on to new regions, it moved with you, right into your phone.
0:43That was ten years ago, and it's been riding in pockets ever since.
0:47And every time someone upgrades, the new phone comes out of the box clean and quiet, and the old one goes in a drawer.
0:51You keep that old one for what's still on it, like your camera roll from 2016.
0:56Some people keep one for a voicemail they still play, just to hear somebody's voice.
1:00Maybe there's somebody on your old phone you're not ready to let go dark.
1:04Maybe that's why the friend in your pocket was always a ghost.
1:09So if you're setting up a brand new phone this week, check the old one before it goes in the drawer.
1:13Something in there might still be waiting for you.
1:17The new phone gets the ghost, and the old one keeps everybody else.
1:21So what's the one thing on your old phone you'll never delete?
1:26Make sure to share your answer in the comments!
