0:09Its Pokédex says it's the only Pokémon with genes this unstable, and nobody has figured out why.

0:19It could reach level one hundred and still be the same little Eevee it was on day one, until somebody makes a choice.

0:24In Pokémon Red and Blue, there was exactly one Eevee in the whole game.

0:28It was sitting alone in a Poké Ball on a table, in an empty room on the roof of a building in Celadon City.

0:33A few blocks away, a store sold the stones.

0:38And every kid had to stand there and decide what their only Eevee would become, knowing there was no undo.

0:43Some of us thought harder about that than we've thought about half the big decisions in our adult lives.

0:47Then the next games added futures that no stone could unlock.

0:52Two of them only happen if Eevee loves its trainer enough, and whether it's day or night when that moment comes decides which one.

0:57And one Pokédex entry says its genes are shaped by whatever surrounds it, so much that even its face starts to look like its trainer's.

1:02So every Eevee that ever became something was somebody's choice, and it carries a little bit of the person who made it.

1:06Maybe you're standing in front of a choice right now, scared that picking one means losing all the others.

1:11Maybe nothing gets to become anything until somebody is brave enough to choose.

1:16Eevee can hold eight futures and still stay right where it started, until somebody cares enough to choose one.
